Job summary

Harmonics Recruitment are looking for a 5-Axis CNC Machinist on behalf of our client based in Shannon, Ireland. The role involves setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres to produce high-precision components for the medical device sector.

You will read engineering drawings, verify programs, perform first-off and in-process inspections, and work with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to maintain ISO 13485 compliance and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering required.
• Proven 2–3 years CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing.
• Experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of machining parameters and tooling

Responsibilities

• As a 5-Axis CNC Machinist, set up and operate 5-axis machining centres.
• Load, verify, and run CNC programs.
• Perform tool changes, set offsets, and adjust machines.
• Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to optimise processes.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and company procedures.
