Job summary

World Resources Institute is seeking a User Research Lead for its Data Lab in Jakarta. This hybrid role combines product strategy, user research, and stakeholder engagement to deliver user‑centered tools.

You'll collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to translate insights into scalable solutions. The role emphasizes usability testing, personas, and journey mapping, with occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design, business, human–computer interaction, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, design strategy, or a related role.
• Proven expertise in user research methods, usability testing, and data‑driven design practices.
• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing product roadmaps aligned with business and user goals.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate research insights into actionable product strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams including engineering, product management, and design.
• Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to tackle complex problems with innovative and user‑centered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop product strategies that align with WRI Indonesia's goals and deliver impact.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate design concepts into functional, scalable products.
• Analyze product performance and identify opportunities for iterative improvements.
• Conduct user research to gather insights on user behaviors and needs.
• Facilitate usability testing to evaluate prototypes and features.
• Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations for product improvements.
• Develop user personas and journey maps to guide design and development processes.
• Engage with end-users to validate features and ensure alignment with needs.
