Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Ship Management and maritime operations with a strong understanding of vessel safety and regulatory compliance.
• Solid background in Marine Engineering, including propulsion systems, machinery, and maintenance planning.
• Proven capability in inspection activities, audits, and class or flag inspections.
• Relevant sailing or seagoing experience, preferably in officer or engineering positions, providing practical insight into shipboard operations.

Role Description

The Technical Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Banten, Indonesia. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical performance, safety, and maintenance of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Day-to-day tasks include planning and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating dry-docking and repair activities, reviewing technical reports, and optimizing vessel performance and reliability. The Technical Superintendent collaborates with ship crews, suppliers, and classification societies, prepares and manages technical budgets, and ensures timely procurement of spare parts and equipment. This role also involves investigating technical incidents, implementing corrective actions, and continuously improving technical procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Ship Management and Maritime operations, with a strong understanding of vessel safety, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
• Solid background in Marine Engineering, including experience with propulsion systems, machinery, and vessel maintenance planning.
• Proven capability in Inspection activities, such as conducting vessel condition assessments, audits, and class or flag inspections.
• Relevant Sailing or seagoing experience, preferably in officer or engineering positions, providing practical insight into shipboard operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with crew members, shore-based teams, authorities, and external partners.
• Proficiency in using technical management software and standard office applications for reporting and documentation.
• Knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety frameworks (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) is highly beneficial.
