Job summary

Igloo is seeking a senior software engineering lead to own the technical design and delivery of cloud, web, and mobile software behind Igloo's property management solutions. The platform serves multi-family and single-family operators, connecting property managers, operators, and tenants to smart lock hardware through secure access experiences.

You will work closely with product, design, QA and engineering teams to ship reliable features quickly, and keep design, testing, and delivery aligned

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong backend and full-stack depth, with breadth to review mobile/frontend designs.
• Experience writing and reviewing technical designs and API contracts (e.g., OpenAPI).
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers in scrum delivery.
• Track record of elevating engineering standards and mentoring engineers.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• IoT or hardware-connected product experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture reviews and system design for the product domain.
• Require end-to-end sequence diagrams, API contracts, and explicit scope for key changes.
• Hold design reviews with backend, frontend and QA scope, contracts and test approaches agreed before work is committed.
• Set code review, testing, and CI/CD standards.
• Align with other engineering leads on shared backend and API standards.
• Partner with product, design and stakeholders before development starts on feasibility, requirements and estimates.
• Own sprint flow, track cycle time and predictability, escalate when a sprint is at risk.
• Build hardware and multi-device testing into design and the definition of done.
• Provide technical readiness input for hardware gate reviews.
• Identify and resolve technical debt and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across locations and time zones as required.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and pairing.
