Job summary

Motel Rocks in Bali, Indonesia is seeking a Tax Manager to support the Group Finance Director in overseeing tax operations across Indonesia. The role focuses on aligning processes, overseeing compliance and transfer pricing policy, and reviewing tax activities.

You will line-manage the Tax Assistant, drive process improvements, and collaborate with the compliance team to ensure full tax compliance while contributing to Motel's sustainability journey.

• Proven experience in a Tax Manager role or similar.
• Strong leadership skills and proven experience of supervising and motivating team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical and numerical abilities.
• Sound business knowledge and commercial acumen.
• Accuracy and an eye for detail.
• Good IT skills to work across a variety of software.

• Manage the entirety of Motel's tax compliance, including employee tax, corporation tax, withholding tax and VAT.
• Prepare and present supporting documents for tax audits.
• Line management of Tax Assistant, supporting their learning and development.
• Suggest improvements to internal processes and improve efficiencies within the team.
• Work closely with the compliance manager to ensure full tax compliance.
• Support Motel's sustainability initiatives by considering how our practices can improve, actively working in line with the sustainability journey of the business.

Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. The Role

Our Tax Manager will be responsible for supporting the Group Finance Director in overseeing tax operations across Indonesia. Working alongside the ROW Finance Manager, the Tax manager will align processes, oversee compliance and transfer pricing policy and review.
