Job summary

Yayasan Hutan Tropis in Jakarta, Indonesia, is seeking a Grievance Response Specialist to coordinate and close grievance cases across the Indo Pacific region, leading investigations and preparing assessments and recommendations.

You will liaise with local NGOs, government bodies, producers, and communities, document case progress, and ensure timely reporting. A degree in a relevant field, Indonesian nationality or work authorization, and fluent Bahasa Indonesia and English are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in sustainability or related fields.
• Experience in assessment, investigation, and follow-up of grievances.
• Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Indonesian nationality or valid authorization to work in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate grievance cases from first report to closure in the Indo-Pacific region.
• Lead investigations and write reports, assessments and recommendations.
• Monitor online sources, local NGOs and media for new grievances and act as first contact.
• Assess new grievances, set priorities and decide when to inform members.
• Engage with producers, government and sector platforms; gather diverse stakeholder views.
• Travel to field sites and offices as required.
