Job summary

Nirankara HR Consultant is hiring a Sushi Chef for a full-time, on-site role based in Tabanan, Bali. You will prepare and assemble sushi dishes, ensuring high quality and presentation, while coordinating with the kitchen team to maintain safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has sushi or Japanese cuisine experience, strong knife skills, and a commitment to hygiene and food safety. This position offers a dynamic start-up environment with opportunities for menu input and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong food preparation and cooking skills, with sushi or Japanese cuisine experience.
• Sound knowledge of seafood selection, handling and storage.
• Excellent culinary skills including knife techniques and plating.
• Strict hygiene and food safety practices in line with local regulations.
• Relevant experience as a Sushi Chef or in a professional kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast paced setting while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls.
• Select and cut seafood, cook and season rice, and manage ingredients.
• Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling in all prep areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen team and assist in menu development or specials.
