Job summary

Leighton Contractors Indonesia is seeking a Superintendant Procurement - MEP to support the manager in supervising goods and materials acquisition per the plan, ensuring shortages are secured and supplier selection is optimized under the prevailing procedures.

The role emphasizes achieving efficient procurement, cost control, and alignment with safety and environmental standards in a demanding mining/construction environment in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of procurement operations and safety legal requirements.
• Undergraduate degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse and procurement management.
• Experience managing direct staff or subcontractors.
• Experience in mining/construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate data completion and integrity of supplier and pricing database to obtain quality products at best commercial terms.
• Review and monitor all purchase orders to fulfill demand of goods for core activities.
• Monitor alignment of requirement changes with procurement process for consolidation and centralization.
• Track purchase order status including delivery, invoices, and payments.
• Coordinate and develop assigned subordinates to optimize workable time.
• Enforce safe and environmentally friendly working procedures in line with HSE requirements.
• Develop continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure sufficient competent technical resources are available for procurement.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse to optimize cost, price and timeliness of delivery.
• Consolidate reports from subordinates for daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Share knowledge to enhance professional development within the organization.

• To coordinate the data completion and data integrity of supplier and pricing database in order to obtain quality products at best commercial terms negotiable in the market.
• To review and monitor all purchase orders in order to fulfill the demand of goods which are required to perform company’s core activities effectively.
• To monitor the alignment of change on requirement with the procurement process in order to ensure effective consolidation and centralization.
• To monitor the update of purchase order tracking system on a regular basis in order to ensure accurate tracking in terms of goods delivery, invoices received and payment made.
• To coordinate and develop the assigned subordinates in order to optimize workable time.
• To enforce safe and environmentally friendly working procedures in order to ensure the excellent safety record and encourage employee participation in health and safety matters in order to comply with statutory requirements and HSE expectation.
• To develop continuous improvement and optimization activities in order to ensure optimum efficiencies in ongoing basis.
• To ensure sufficient competent technical resources are available in order to effectively perform procurement
• To coordinate with logistics and warehouse function in order to optimize the cost, price and timeliness of delivery of purchased materials.
• To consolidate reports from subordinates in order to ensure the accurate presentation of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• To perform knowledge sharing in order to enhance the professional development within the organization.

Requirements:

• Deep knowledge upon procurement operation & safety legal requirements
• Preferably undergraduate degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
• 8 – 10 years experience
• Have extensive experience in inventory control, warehouse and procurement management with a capability in monitoring direct staff or subcontractors
• Experience in managing operational and technical role in the mining/construction industry.
• Experience working at mining/civil contractor is preferred.
