Job summary

McDermott in Batam, Indonesia is seeking a Structural Engineer to apply foundational structural engineering knowledge and solve straightforward problems with guidance. You will perform FEED, studies, and detailed design tasks; prepare design calculations and reports, and coordinate with multiple disciplines. Strong English, HSE awareness, and up-to-date design standards are required. This on-site role involves interfacing with construction and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• 3–8 years of oil and gas experience with a major contractor or consultant is desirable.
• Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of a professional engineering society desirable.
• Working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
• HSE, TQM and cost-conscious.
• Familiarity with standards, codes, and guidelines applicable to the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEED, studies, and detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on more complex and demanding tasks
• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
• Initiate interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designs
• Review vendor data and assist in bid evaluations
• Provide engineering support as required
