Job summary

Welcons Engineering in Batam seeks a Civil Structural Engineer to analyse and design reinforced-concrete and steel structures, producing safe, practical solutions documented from calculations through construction drawings.

You will prepare structural calculations and drawings, coordinate with architectural and MEP teams, review design changes, and support site inspections, with strong attention to detail and clear technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably structural.
• Knowledge of structural mechanics and load paths.
• Experience with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE.
• Ability to read structural drawings in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SNI standards; knowledge of ACI/AISC is a plus.
• Ability to verify results with engineering judgment.

Job description

Analyse and design concrete and steel structures, prepare engineering reports, and develop practical structural solutions with the Welcons team. You will help develop structural designs that are safe, practical, coordinated, and clearly documented from engineering calculations through construction drawings and technical support during construction.

Key responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced-concrete and steel structures in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.

Develop and verify structural models, including loading, load combinations, boundary conditions, stability, and serviceability.

Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and supporting technical documentation.

Prepare structural drawings accurately reflect design requirements, reinforcement details, and connection arrangements.

Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.

Review design changes and site queries, assess their implications, and propose practical solutions for review and approval.

Participate in design coordination meetings and site inspections as required.

Check deliverables before submission, maintain revision records, and follow through on review comments.

Communicate technical issues, risks, and proposed solutions proactively while meeting agreed deadlines.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus on structural engineering.

Understanding of structural mechanics, load paths, reinforced-concrete design, and steel design.

Working proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE.

Ability to read, interpret, and work with structural drawings using AutoCAD.

Familiarity with applicable SNI structural design standards; knowledge of ACI, AISC, or other international standards is an advantage.

Ability to check software results using engineering judgment and independent calculations.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear technical communication.

Able to work collaboratively, take ownership of assigned tasks, and follow through on outstanding matters.

Willing to work in Batam and attend project sites when required.

Previous structural design consultancy experience is an advantage.
