VentureSEA is seeking a Software Development Engineer (Fullstack) for a remote role in Jakarta. You will review architectures, build secure, scalable systems, and own CI/CD pipelines while delivering RESTful APIs and rich frontend UIs with React/Next.js.

1. Architecture Review & Technical Quality
Review the current application architecture, codebase, and dependencies to identify design gaps, technical debt, and security weaknesses.
Recommend and implement improvements to system design, modularity, performance, and maintainability.
Conduct peer code reviews and uphold coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team.
Assess and document architectural decisions, trade-offs, and associated risks.
Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering build, automated testing, security scanning, and deployment.
Integrate security controls into the pipeline, including SAST, DAST, dependency/SCA scanning, secrets detection, and container image scanning.
Implement secure-by-design practices such as least-privilege access, secrets management, and environment segregation.
Define and monitor quality gates, and drive remediation of findings with the development team.
3. Fullstack Application Development
Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using React, Next.js, and standards-based HTML and CSS.
Design and implement RESTful APIs, data models, and integrations with internal and third-party services.
Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (e.g. Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Cypress) to ensure reliability and regression coverage.
Participate in release planning, deployment, and post-release verification.
4. Operational Support & Reliability
Support deployed applications, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect resolution.
Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to improve observability and incident response.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization, including rendering strategy and bundle/runtime performance in Next.js.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues suitable for automation.
5. Documentation & Knowledge Management
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and runbooks.
Document pipeline configuration, deployment procedures, and security controls.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to team members and support teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in fullstack software development.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
Working knowledge of application security principles, including the OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows, including code review.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with TypeScript in production codebases.
Familiarity with Next.js rendering approaches (SSR, SSG, ISR) and App Router architecture.
Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express, NestJS, or Fastify.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).
Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling such as SonarQube, Snyk, Trivy, or Dependabot, and npm dependency/supply-chain security.
Experience with observability tooling (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Application Insights).
Exposure to architecture review, threat modelling, or security assessment activities.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Relevant certifications in cloud, security, or software engineering.
