Job summary
PT East-West Seed Indonesia seeks a Biosystems Engineering Specialist to lead end-to-end farm engineering designs, integrating smart farming tech and digital phenotyping to boost efficiency.
You will collaborate with breeders, agronomists, plant physiologists and data scientists to align engineering with crop research; travel frequently and relocate to Purwakarta, West Java as needed.
This role emphasizes rigorous experimentation, testing protocols, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master's with relevant years of experience in Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering.
- Deep expertise in plant physiology–engineering interactions and experimental design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, GIS, and data processing tools.
- Experience with precision Ag-Tech: IoT, remote sensing, and digital phenotyping interpretation.
- Willingness to travel frequently and relocate to Purwakarta, West Java.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design of farm engineering projects focusing on precision irrigation and smart greenhouse automation.
- Establish testing protocols for Ag-Tech (IoT, sensors) and design water-energy-efficient systems.
- Drive optimization of machinery through MIS reporting and standardization efforts.
- Develop drone/camera-based remote sensing and sensor arrays for automated phenotyping and trial monitoring.
- Collaborate with Breeders, Agronomists, Plant physiologists and Data Scientists to align engineering with research goals.
