Job summary

Japfa is looking for a Site Civil Supervisor to monitor civil construction activities, verify conformity with drawings, specs, and ITP, and escalate deviations to the Project Coordinator. You will oversee contractor performance, track progress, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, have 3–5 years in civil construction or supervision, be proficient in Excel/Word, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil construction, supervision, or CM.
• Experience supervising contractors from Owner/Consultant side preferred.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and method statements.
• Familiarity with safety and quality standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD is preferred.

Job description

• Site Supervision and Compliance
• Monitor civil construction activities against approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Verify that contractor execution complies with project requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, deviations, and potential construction risks.
• Escalate unauthorized changes and non-compliant work to the Project Coordinator.
• Progress and Schedule Control
• Verify actual physical progress against the approved project schedule.
• Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, productivity, and work fronts.
• Identify potential delays and assess their impact on project milestones.
• Report deviations and recommend corrective actions to the Project Coordinator.
• Quality Assurance and Inspection
• Witness and verify inspections and tests in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Monitor workmanship, material compliance, and inspection records.
• Record defects and non-conformities and track corrective actions.
• Verify rectification before recommending acceptance by the authorized party.
• Contractor Performance Monitoring
• Monitor contractor compliance with contractual scope, approved work plans, and site requirements.
• Assess manpower adequacy and construction readiness.
• Coordinate with contractor supervisors and consultants to resolve site issues.
• Escalate inadequate resources, repeated non-compliance, and poor performance.
• Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare daily site reports and weekly progress updates.
• Maintain records of physical progress, manpower, equipment, quality issues, and site constraints.
• Provide verified information for project progress reports and management dashboards.
• Track outstanding issues, action owners, and target completion dates.
• HSE Monitoring and Project Close-Out
• Monitor contractor compliance with site HSE requirements and escalated unsafe conditions.
• Verify completion of civil works, punch-list items, and defect rectification.
• Review as-built documentation and support inspection and handover activities.

Job Qualifications – Site Civil Supervisor

• Education
• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Work Experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil construction, site supervision, or construction management.
• Experience in building, industrial, infrastructure, or other relevant construction projects.
• Experience in supervising contractors from the Owner's or Consultant's side is preferred.
• Technical Competencies
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
• Knowledge of civil construction methods, including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, structural works, masonry, roads, and drainage.
• Understanding of construction quality inspection, material testing, and non-conformance management.
• Ability to monitor physical progress and compare actual performance against approved construction schedules.
• Familiarity with construction safety requirements and applicable quality standards.
• Ability to identify construction deviations, technical issues, and potential schedule delays.
• Reporting and Computer Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard reporting tools.
• Ability to prepare daily site reports, weekly progress reports, inspection records, and photographic documentation.
• Ability to maintain issue registers and monitor corrective actions.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for drawing review is preferred.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is an advantage.
