Job summary

PT JAH LINE INTERNATIONAL in Jakarta Selatan seeks a shipping/logistics professional to oversee vessel-related operations at Indonesian ports, including port entry/exit formalities, pilotage, berthing/unberthing, and crew-change procedures.

The role emphasizes client liaison with shipowners and operators worldwide, handling bills of lading, cargo manifests, and customs declarations, while promptly addressing disruptions and negotiating for client interests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping or logistics.
  • Background in ship agency or marine operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with major Indonesian ports (e.g., Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Padang, Dumai, Balikpapan) will be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of trade terms such as FOB and CIF.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee vessel-related matters at Indonesian ports, including port entry/exit formalities, pilotage, berthing/unberthing, and crew changes.
  • Act as primary contact for shipowners, charterers, or operators worldwide, updating on vessel status and operational results.
  • Prepare, review, and process shipping documents such as bills of lading, cargo manifests, and customs declarations.
  • Handle disruptions during operations (port congestion, procedural delays, cargo disputes) and assist in negotiations to protect client interests.
  • Track and report port disbursements and cost control to management.

Job description

Oversee all vessel-related matters at Indonesian ports, including processing port entry/exit formalities,arranging pilotage and berthing/unberthing, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.crew changesprocedures, PSCO bunkering etc.

2.Client Communication & Relationship Maintenance

Act as the primary contact for shipowners, charterers, or operators worldwide, providing timely updateson vessel status and operational results to foster long-term partnerships. communication with.shipper/consignee/stevedores also

Prepare, review, and process various shipping documents such as bills of lading, cargo manifests, andcustoms declarations, PKKA arrangements ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.

Demonstrate ability to handle unexpected situations during operations, such as port congestion,procedural delays, or cargo disputes, and assist in negotiations to protect client interests.

5.Cost Management & Reporting

Track and manage port disbursements, assist in cost verification and settlement, and regularly reportoperational progress and cost control to management.

1.Language Skills

Excellent English proficiency (written and spoken) for handling emails, documents, and dailycommunication. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping or logistics; background in ship agency or marine operations ispreferred. Familiarity with major Indonesian ports e.g., Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Sumatera area suchas Padang, Dumai, Palembang, Kalimantan area such as Taboneo, Kendawangan, Balikpapan) will be highly regarded.

2.Professional Knowledge

Familiarity with international shipping practices, port operation procedures, and customs/maritimeregulations; understanding of trade terms such as FOB and CIF.

3.Personal Attributes

Strong communication and coordination skills, resilience under pressure, and problem-solving ability;meticulous attention to detail, strong customer service orientation, and a sense of responsibility.
