Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Specialist to advance subcontract discipline across projects. You will serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues and apply best practices to improve subcontract outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in subcontracting or procurement.
• Field experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract policies and processes.
• Proven ability to develop, negotiate and administer complex subcontracts and policies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with multifunctional teams.
• Ability to ensure compliance with subcontracts and policies.
• Experience with bid processes and bid evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Create and conduct RFPs/ITBs including vendor pre-qualifications in Oracle and drafting Subcontract documents.
• Manage tender correspondence, negotiate terms, shortlist, bid tabulations, and draft award recommendations.
• Handle all pre-award activities through Subcontract Award.
• Identify cost avoidance, cost savings, and risk-management opportunities during formation.
• Support subcontract management strategy development and implementation.
• Provide guidance on subcontract matters to site leadership.
• Prepare and present internal and external subcontract management presentations.
• Review standard subcontracts for compliance with policies before execution.
• Maintain proper handling of pre-award subcontracts and related files.
• Collaborate with Project Subcontract Coordinators to ensure proper administration.
