Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to advance the Structural discipline, mentor colleagues, and solve complex design problems. You will influence projects, ensure adherence to guidelines, and support multiple teams across the organization.

The role requires extensive experience in oil and gas with detailed design responsibility, and a strong command of structural analysis, FEM, and design codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is required.
• 8-15 years of oil & gas experience with major contractor or consultant.
• Registered Professional Engineer or professional society membership preferred.
• Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications.
• Good knowledge of engineering software.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
• HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious mindset.
• Good technical structural knowledge.
• Strong organizing, motivating, and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED, studies and detailed design per basis, specs, codes and standards.
• Direct Engineering team as Lead Engineer on small projects.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, analyses, reports and procedures.
• Manage time to meet deadlines and budgets; plan short-term activities.
• Communicate complex issues clearly to establish understanding.
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance to MOPEX/other offices.
• Coordinate with other disciplines; provide engineering support as required.
• Review vendor data and prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Check designs for operability, constructability, and maintainability.
• Prepare MTOs, specifications, and subcontract documents.
• Coordinate with project management and area leads.
