Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for Material Handling Automation in our Manufacturing and Operations team. You will drive design, delivery, and optimization of automation solutions in a high-tech cleanroom environment, shaping the future of semiconductor manufacturing.

You will set technical direction for MCS, AMR and OHT fleets, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with safety, security, and data integrity standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in semiconductor backend processes, robotics systems, or material handling automation.
• Proven ability to architect and lead complex digitalization or automation solutions from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, optimization, and ongoing support of automation and digitalization solutions.
• Set technical direction for material handling systems including MCS, Cobot AMR and OHT fleet management.
• Use WIP analysis, capacity planning, simulation, and scenario modelling to set targets and inform investments.
• Integrate solutions with factory systems, analytics platforms, cybersecurity, and roadmaps.
• Improve engineering processes and establish best practices for requirements, testing, documentation, lifecycle management, and ops support.
• Lead technical planning, architecture reviews, risk management, and change-control compliance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, automation, IT, suppliers, and business teams on technical decisions and implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Use WIP analysis, capacity planning, simulation, and scenario modelling to set performance targets and inform investment decisions.
• Integrate solutions with factory systems, analytics platforms, cybersecurity requirements, and digitalization roadmaps.
• Improve engineering processes and establish best practices for requirements, testing, documentation, lifecycle management, and operational support.
• Lead technical planning and delivery, including architecture reviews, estimates, risk management, and compliance with safety, security, data integrity, and change-control requirements.
• Work with manufacturing, automation, IT, suppliers, and business teams on technical decisions, vendor and technology evaluations, and implementation plans.

Qualifications and skills

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in semiconductor backend processes, robotics systems, material handling automation, MCS, fleet management, equipment load-port modification, stockers, Cobot AMRs, OHTs, or related technical leadership roles.
• Proven ability to architect, lead, and sustain complex digitalization or automation solutions from concept through deployment and operation.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders, and translating business strategies into scalable engineering solutions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders across various functions, organizational levels, and external partners.
• A strategic, quality-focused engineering mindset characterized by strong ownership, accountability, and mentoring capability.
• You are comfortable driving technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
