Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS) for its Consumer Experience team in Jakarta to lead iOS app development, architecture, code reviews, and mentoring. You will ensure app performance and best practices while delivering high-quality iOS experiences.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be based onsite at Grab office. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, with a focus on UI/UX and secure, scalable mobile solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of overall software experience, with at least 4 years in iOS development.
• Proficient in Swift and Objective-C, with solid iOS SDK knowledge.
• Experience with Xcode, Git, and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of design patterns, usability, performance, and security principles.
• Experience in API design, unit testing, and UI testing.

Join the Consumer Experience (CX) Engineering team - we work on a diverse set of consumer problems spanning across core experiences that power the UX navigation and transaction funnels, search and discovery of content and services, user lifecycle covering user growth, engagement and loyalty and the critical platform mission of mobile application developer experience. We are on an exciting mission to connect consumers to Grab's marketplace by enabling them to seamlessly discover and engage with Grab's services and partners.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for iOS Engineers who are experienced professionals responsible for leading the development of iOS applications. They excel in app development, architectural design, code review, and mentoring, ensuring app performance and adherence to best practices. Their expertise includes user interface design, API integration, security implementation, and device compatibility, making them valuable assets in delivering high-quality iOS apps.

You will report to the Engineering Manager. You will be based onsite at Grab office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will develop iOS applications, ensuring high quality and delivery of projects
• You will collaborate with teams to Identify project requirements and develop solutions that meet our needs.
• You will develop technical documentation, including code comments, architecture diagrams, and technical guides.
• You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, using debugging tools and techniques to identify and fix problems.
• You will stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends and tools, and apply this knowledge to improve development processes and product quality

Essential Skills You Will Need

• Min. 5 years of working experience, with 4+ years of relevant experience in iOS application development.
• You are well-versed in Swift and Objective-C, the two main languages used for iOS development. Additionally, you understand the iOS SDK and are comfortable using multiple iOS frameworks and libraries.
• You are familiar with the tools commonly used in iOS development. This includes Xcode, which is the primary environment for developing iOS apps, Git for version control, and Jenkins for continuous integration.
• You understand design patterns and principles that guide iOS development. This includes a focus on usability, performance, and security.
• You have experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design, unit testing and UI testing techniques
• You can work in an Agile environment, able to adapt to changes swiftly, and comfortable with iterative development and frequent collaboration. Experience with version control systems is also essential.
• You have experience maintaining applications, crash analytics, remote debugging and continuous integration.
