Job summary

Macquarie Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Cloud and Analytics platform. You will design, build and operate production-grade distributed compute and data science platforms using Python, Java or Scala, with strong cloud and Kubernetes experience.

The role requires modern engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, Bazel, Git workflows, Linux administration and networking, plus proficiency with AWS and IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Helm.

Qualifications

• Advanced software engineering experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Cloud engineering familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD, Bazel, Git workflows, Linux administration, and networking.
• Knowledge of analytics/AI tech including Airflow, Dask, JupyterHub, LLMs, prompt engineering.

• Advanced software engineering expertise in Python, Java or Scala, with experience designing, building and supporting production-grade distributed compute and data science platforms.
• Strong cloud engineering capability, including AWS, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Helm.
• Experience with modern engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, Bazel, Git-based workflows, Linux administration and networking.
• Knowledge of analytics and AI technologies, including Apache Airflow, Dask, JupyterHub, LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, MCP tools and prompt engineering.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, inquisitive and agile approach to partnering with quantitative analysts, traders and other business stakeholders
