Job summary

British American Tobacco Indonesia invites applications for a Senior Mechanic (Packer Technology) in Malang. You will be the subject matter expert for packer machines, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and lead RCA activities to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualification includes a technical Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in manufacturing/maintenance, with SAP PM and project management knowledge considered a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, reliability, or continuous improvement environments.
• Strong technical expertise in troubleshooting complex industrial equipment and mechanical systems within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence, equipment reliability, and process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP PM, root cause analysis methodologies, and project management is highly beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for packer machines and support the team with technical guidance in daily manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot complex and recurring equipment issues to ensure machine reliability, operational efficiency, and minimal downtime.
• Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) activities to identify and resolve equipment failures and quality-related issues.
• Support root cause analysis to find and fix equipment failures and quality-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine performance, production efficiency, and manufacturing processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support productivity and cost improvement projects, while helping to apply best practices across operations.
• Provide technical expertise for engineering projects, including equipment commissioning, qualification, start-up, and implementation activities.
• Help build team capability by coaching operators, sharing knowledge, and supporting technical training or workshops.
