Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering activities, ensure compliance with international codes, and mentor junior engineers on site. You will coordinate maintenance, inspections, testing, and commissioning with project teams and contractors.

The role requires strong CAD/CAE proficiency and experience with HVAC, piping, rotating equipment, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in relevant sectors.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Ensure compliance with international construction codes, engineering standards, and class specifications.
• Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Lead site inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and spare parts for mechanical works.
• Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with classification societies, inspectors, and contractors to meet standards.
