Job summary

Traveloka in Indonesia seeks a Legal Counsel with deep expertise in commercial contracts, compliance and data privacy to join our in-house team. You will lead end-to-end matters, advise senior leaders, and shape policy through playbooks and templates.

You bring at least 8 years of experience, strong drafting skills, ability to manage multiple stakeholders, and fluency in English. A Bachelor of Laws and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in legal roles (firm and in-house).
• Strong track record drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Recognised deep expert in a defined legal domain with independent execution.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial goals for business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements with partners, suppliers, and tech providers.
• Provide practical legal advice on new business initiatives, product launches, and partnerships.
• Lead the regulatory posture for your domain, anticipating change and designing responses.
• Advise senior leaders and persuade counterparts on high-stakes deals without authority over them.
• Develop playbooks, templates, and frameworks to improve policy consistency across the domain.
• Engage regulators and external counsel on specialist matters as needed.
• Manage external counsel on cross-border matters and complex disputes.
