Job summary

BYD Indonesia seeks an experienced in-house lawyer to draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, and advise on Indonesian employment, governance, and data protection matters.

You will resolve labor disputes, liaise with HR, Finance, Procurement and Customs, identify legal risks in factories, and deliver training across the group in Subang/Jakarta. The role requires a license, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work quickly under pressure in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a top Indonesian university; advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in labor/civil/commercial law, preferably in automotive/manufacturing.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin is a strong advantage.
• Licensed lawyer with local court/arbitration experience.
• Strong understanding of legal drafting, corporate law, and industry regulations.
• Able to work independently or in a team; adapt to fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work in Subang and across Group entities.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents.

• Coordinate with HR, Finance, Procurement, Customs to ensure compliance.
• Identify and manage systemic legal risks in factories; improve overseas risk controls.
• Provide legal training to departments on local legal practices.

Job description

• 1.Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents (including procurement, construction, sales, customs, enviroment, joint ventures, etc.).
• 2..Advise on employment，corporate governance, data protection and other legal issuess under Indonesian law.
• 3.Resolve labor disputes and other commercial disputes, handle the cases in court, arbitration and other litigations.
• 4. Work closely with various internal department such as HR/Finance/Procurement/Customs and ect. Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in day-to-day business operation, and liaise with the departments.
• 5. Identify, analyze, assess, and respond to systemic legal risks in factories, establish and improve the company's overseas legal risk identification and control system.
• 6. Provide legal training to different department on the local legal practice to improve the management strategies.

Qualifications

• 1.Bachelor's degree in Law or above from a top Indonesian university ; advanced degree or work experience from China/International company is preferred.

Required Skills

• 2.3+ years of experience in labor/civil/commercial law practice, preferably in automotive/manufacturing industry.
• 3.Work in fluent English (written/spoken); Mandarin is a strong advantage.
• 4.Certification lawyer license and experience with local courts,arbitrations.
• 5.Good understanding of legal drafting, corporate law, and regulation relevant to industry operations
