Job summary

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Kubernetes & Service Mesh is a hands-on technical lead responsible for designing, building, and operating high-scale container and service mesh infrastructure powering critical backend services across Grab in Jakarta.

You will architect multi-cluster AWS EKS, Istio service mesh, and developer enablement, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Security, SRE, Networking and Cloud teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or cloud platforms.
• Expert Kubernetes architecture with service mesh experience (Istio/Linkerd).
• Hands-on multi-cloud and IaC expertise; Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting and monitoring skills; Python, Bash, Go; Prometheus/Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-scale Kubernetes and service mesh infrastructure.
• Architect multi-cluster AWS EKS, multi-region topologies, and automated lifecycles.
• Mentor engineers; collaborate with Security, SRE, Networking, and Cloud teams.
