Job summary

Grab is seeking an Engineering Manager for GrabKios in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will lead a backend/QA engineering team, shape the technical strategy, and partner with product and business groups to drive scalable financial services.

Based in our Jakarta office, you will own quarterly roadmaps, oversee design and implementation reviews, and mentor engineers to raise delivery standards and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years backend development experience.
• 3+ years engineering management experience with leadership and mentoring.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Go, Python, Java).
• Experience with scalable backend architecture, distributed systems, and best practices.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience deploying code in AWS/Azure/Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead a platform-focused team of backend, full-stack, and QA engineers.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards.
• Champion engineering excellence with tools and practices.
• Build and deliver quarterly/half-year team roadmaps with cross-functional partners.
• Manage daily project execution, capacity allocation, and sprint planning.
• Define strategy to improve system reliability, security, and extensibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to solve complex projects.
• Work with Operations to ensure smooth integrations with third-party vendors.
• Mentor engineering talent and plan career development.
