Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking an Inspector/Senior Inspector, Hull (Painting) to oversee hull blasting, coating, and painting activities. You will coordinate with production teams and subcontractors to ensure quality per project specs, classification requirements, and industry standards.

You will inspect materials, verify workmanship, witness tests under the ITP, and help maintain HSE compliance across the yard.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Ship Construction, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in shipbuilding or ship repair with strong Hull Treatment QC experience.
• NACE or FROSIO Coating Inspector certification preferred.
• Good knowledge of hull blasting, painting, coating inspection and marine/offshore QC standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect hull blasting, coating, and painting to ensure compliance with project specifications, SSPC, ASTM, and other industry standards.
• Monitor yard blasting and coating activities as directed by supervisor.
• Inspect and verify materials comply with client specs.
• Witness, inspect, and document blasting and coating tests per ITP.
• Inspect and verify insulation and paneling installations meet drawings and specs.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and PTW system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
