Job summary

Maju Operations and Development in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is seeking a Senior Gardener Staff on a contract basis to lead gardening and landscaping across our properties. The role involves supervising junior staff, designing plantations and hardscaping features, and ensuring sustainable maintenance practices.

We expect 5-7 years of gardening experience with 2-3 years in a supervisory role, plus strong knowledge of tropical plant species and landscape design.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of professional gardening and landscaping experience, with 2-3 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Knowledge of tropical and subtropical plant species and climate considerations.
• Experience in landscape design principles and implementation.
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong leadership and ability to train and manage staff.
• Knowledge of pest management and sustainable gardening practices.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Physically fit for outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Knowledge of local flora in West Nusa Tenggara is desirable.
• Fluency in Indonesian and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute all gardening and landscaping maintenance activities across assigned areas.
• Supervise and guide junior gardening staff, providing training and direction.
• Design and implement landscaping projects including planting schemes and layouts.
• Maintain garden equipment and perform regular maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor plant health and apply pest management and disease control measures.
• Manage seasonal planting schedules and ensure proper irrigation and fertilisation.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and inventories.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Liaise with management and clients on landscaping requirements and updates.
• Identify opportunities for landscape improvements and cost-effective solutions.
