Job summary

Amman Mineral International (AMMAN) is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead planning, reviewing and coordinating civil, structural, and architectural works for mining infrastructure and processing facilities at site-based West Sumbawa.

You will ensure delivered designs meet project specs, safety, and regulatory requirements, supervise consultants and EPC/EPCM contractors, and support studies from concept to FEED, with a focus on heavy foundations and earthworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering; master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in civil/structural engineering, with at least 5 years in mining or related plants.
  • KaIT inspector certificate or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Strong technical leadership, criteria validation, risk assessment, and field inspections.
  • Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, review, and coordinate civil, structural, and architectural works for mining facilities.
  • Ensure consultant and EPC/EPCM deliverables meet specs and safety standards.
  • Review designs, structural calculations, and foundations for compliance.
  • Support conceptual, feasibility, and FEED studies; prepare design bases and specs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors; participate in bid evaluations.
  • Provide on-site engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Job description

Working Location: Site Based - West Sumbawa

Some of your duties will include:

Responsible for planning, reviewing, and coordinating civil, structural, and architectural engineering works for mining infrastructure and processing facilities

Ensure that engineering deliverables from consultants, EPC/EPCM contractors, and vendors meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting capital project development such as processing plants, tailings facilities, power plants, ports, roads, and industrial buildings

Review and validate civil, structural, and architectural engineering designs.

Evaluate engineering deliverables including drawings, structural calculations, foundations, buildings, drainage systems, and earthworks.

Ensure designs comply with international engineering standards and company specifications.

Support conceptual studies, feasibility studies, and FEED engineering phases.

Prepare design basis documents, technical specifications, and engineering scopes of work.

Coordinate with engineering consultants, EPC/EPCM contractors, and equipment vendors.

Participate in technical bid evaluations and contractor selection.

Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

Ensure engineering work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 10 years of experience in civil/structural engineering with at least 5 years in similar role in Mining, mineral processing plants, smelters, power plants, or oil & gas projects.

Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of positions; poses relevant technical inspector certificate

Demonstrates strong technical leadership by developing Scopes of Work, defining and validating technical criteria, supervising engineering deliverables, enforcing compliance with standards, and conducting risk assessments and field inspections.

Effectively coordinates multidisciplinary engineering activities by preparing project schedules, managing priorities and resources, guiding engineers and designers, supporting operations and maintenance, and resolving technical issues safely and efficiently.

Strong expertise in structural engineering, including structural steel and reinforced concrete design, foundation design for heavy equipment, and experience in earthworks and industrial infrastructure.

Familiar with mining-related structures such as conveyors and processing facilities and has a solid understanding of major engineering standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, ASTM, Eurocode, SNI).

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate
