Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and structural drawings.
• Understand ITPs, WPS/PQR, and quality documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ISO 5817, ASME or project-specific standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and surveillance of structural fabrication, fit-up, welding, and erection activities per drawings, specifications, ITPs, WPSs, and project requirements.
• Verify material identification, traceability, dimensions, joint prep, fit-up, alignment, welding parameters, and workmanship at inspection stages.
• Ensure welders are properly qualified for the process, material, position, and qualification range before welding.
• Confirm WPS/PQR and approved welding procedures are available and correctly implemented in production.
• Conduct visual inspection of welds and confirm acceptance criteria before release for next steps or NDT.
• Monitor welding controls including preheat, interpass temp, consumables handling, and sequence.
• Coordinate NDT activities and review status/results to support inspection release per ITP.
• Perform dimensional and structural inspections, including orientation, alignment, elevation, and connections.
• Identify and document non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Maintain inspection records, reports, check sheets, and weld/NDT documentation.
• Coordinate inspection with Construction/Production, Welding Engineering, NDT, Client, certifying authority, and subcontractors.
• Provide inspection notifications and support client/3rd-party hold/witness points per ITP.
• Proactively identify potential welding and fabrication issues to minimize rework.
• Support final inspection, punch-list clearance, mechanical completion, and turnover activities.
• Comply with Project Quality Plan, procedures, HSE, and company requirements.
