Job summary

PT BERGER PAINTS INDONESIA is seeking an R&D chemist to develop solvent-based coating formulations aligned with product requirements and market needs. You will optimize existing formulations for performance, quality, cost, and raw-material efficiency, and run laboratory trials and product testing.

The role involves evaluating resins, pigments, additives, solvents, and other coating materials, troubleshooting quality issues, and driving reformulation and cost-optimization projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant R&D experience in paint and coatings.
• Strong hands-on solvent-based coating formulation experience.
• Knowledge of coating raw materials, resins, pigments, additives, solvents.
• Experience with product troubleshooting, reformulation, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop new solvent-based coating formulations according to product requirements.
