Job summary

Grab is seeking a backend engineer for its Insurance-focused Financial Services team in Indonesia. You will develop complex backend systems powering end-to-end insurance journeys across Grab apps, reporting to the Engineering Manager, Insurance.

Ideal candidates are autonomous, eager to learn, and ready to own technical outcomes. You will collaborate across teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions while supporting on-call rotations to ensure service

Qualifications

• Proven software development experience with Golang or Java.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS).
• Ability to design extensible code following SOLID and clean architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, scalable backend applications for Insurance products.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code; solve complex problems in the InsurTech domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues; provide quick resolutions and uptime.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction of projects.
• Participate in On-Call rotations to ensure service reliability.
