Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Insurance to build and maintain complex backend systems powering Grab’s Insurance products across apps in Indonesia. You will own features from design to production, collaborate across teams, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability.

The role emphasizes ownership, a hunger for learning, autonomy, and a commitment to high-quality, scalable code in the InsurTech space.

Qualifications

• Years of relevant experience in software development, with proficiency in one of the major programming languages, e.g., Golang (preferred) and Java, relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle and code versioning systems like Git.
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and capability to recognise when to use them
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, e.g., AWS
• Experience with the clean architecture principles and ability to write extensible code for complex projects following SOLID principles
• Expertise in writing clean, efficient, maintainable code and documentations

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality and scalable backend applications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problems in the InsurTech domain
• Collaborate with diverse teams to design, and ship new features
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
• Troubleshoot, debug complex issues, and provide quick resolutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction of the projects
• Participate in On-Call rotations to ensure the reliability of services
