Job summary

Bluebirdgroup is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems. You will drive code modernization, mentor juniors, and partner with the Backend Engineering Manager to raise code quality.

You will own incident response during on-call, audit for bottlenecks, review architecture, and enforce testing standards. Experience with Golang or .NET and databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL is essential for this role in our Jakarta Selatan office.

Qualifications

• At least 5-6 years of professional work experience in Backend Engineering.
• Strong professional experience in development using Golang and/or .NET, as well as MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• In-depth experience working with legacy codebases and a proven track record of successfully refactoring or upgrading architecture without disrupting the stability of the running system.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, microservice architecture, database query optimizations, and regression mitigation strategies.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, writing strong automated tests (unit, integration, E2E), and utilizing monitoring and APM tools.
• Strong communication skills to articulate the urgency of addressing technical improvements (technical debt) to both other engineers and technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Willing to Work From Office(Mampang, Jakarta Selatan)

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code for new features, and ensure on-time delivery
• Proactively audit the existing codebase, identify bottlenecks, diagnose regressions, and lead technical improvement initiatives to enhance development efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Backend Engineering Manager in reviewing system designs to ensure balanced, well-planned solutions
• Serve as a stronghold for code quality through rigorous code reviews and automated testing standards
• Independently lead incident response during 24/7 on-call rotations, focusing on rapid detection and RCA creation
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers to enhance the team's technical capabilities
