Job summary

PT Gistex Garmen Indonesia is seeking an experienced Garment Sample Section Head to lead our Sample Department in Bandung. You will oversee prototype to final sample development, ensuring technical accuracy, quality standards, and on-time delivery for international buyers.

You will coordinate with Pattern Making, Technical, Merchandising, QA, and Production teams, monitor schedules and productivity, and develop the team through coaching and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in garment manufacturing with supervisory or managerial experience in sample development.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, sewing, fitting, measurement specs, and quality standards.
• Experience handling sample development for international brands or buyers.
• Able to interpret tech packs and buyer requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, planning, and team management skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.
• Good English communication skills preferred.

Job description

PT Gistex Garmen Indonesia is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Garment Sample Section Head to lead our Sample Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire garment sample development process, ensuring product quality, technical accuracy, operational efficiency, and on-time sample delivery in accordance with international buyer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and supervise all activities within the Sample Department, from initial prototype development to final sample approval.

Oversee the development of prototype samples, fit samples, size sets, and pre-production samples.

Ensure all samples comply with technical specifications, measurement requirements, construction standards, and buyer expectations.

Coordinate closely with Pattern Making, Technical, Merchandising, Quality Assurance, and Production teams.

Monitor sample development schedules, departmental productivity, quality performance, and resource utilization.

Identify technical challenges and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Improve sample development processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.

Develop team capabilities through coaching, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the garment manufacturing industry, including supervisory or managerial experience in sample development.

Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, sewing operations, fitting, measurement specifications, and quality standards.

Experience handling sample development for international brands or buyers is highly preferred.

Proficient in interpreting technical packages (tech packs), garment specifications, and buyer requirements.

Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, planning, and team management skills.

Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, will be an advantage.
