We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer to lead, develop, and execute comprehensive inspection strategies across our operations. In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing inspection intervals, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring full compliance with international safety and industry standards.
RBI Implementation & Optimization: Plan, facilitate, and perform Risk-Based Inspection assessments in accordance with API 580/581 and industry best practices.
Software Management & Data Analysis: Utilize NEXUS RBI software to model degradation mechanisms, perform risk analysis, and generate optimized inspection programs.
Integrity Management: Evaluate equipment risk profiles (static equipment, piping, pressure vessels, tanks, etc.) and recommend targeted inspection methods and intervals.
Technical Reporting: Prepare thorough technical reports, risk assessment summaries, and actionable inspection recommendations for engineering and maintenance teams.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with operations, corrosion, and maintenance engineers to update risk profiles based on updated inspection findings and operational changes.
Core Requirement: Proven, hands-on experience in implementing and utilizing NEXUS RBI software for risk assessments and inspection planning.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy/Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of [e.g., 3-5+] years of direct experience in RBI analysis within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or Heavy Industry sectors.
Certifications (Preferred): API 580 (Risk-Based Inspection) certification or equivalent API certifications (API 510, API 570, API 653) are highly desirable.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of damage mechanisms (API 571) affecting pressure equipment and piping systems.
Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (API, ASME, BS, ISO).
Skills & Communication: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written English communication skills for collaborative reporting.
