Job summary

Maybank is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance professional to develop and execute a robust QA framework for its Retail Banking division. The role ensures adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and credit standards across underwriting, processing, and operations.

The candidate will conduct regular and ad hoc reviews, identify control gaps, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management, and operational quality within CFS Retail.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in QA, internal audit, credit review, risk management, underwriting, or banking ops.

Job description

Responsible for developing and executing the Quality Assurance (QA) framework Retail Banking organization, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and credit standards. The role conducts regular and ad hoc reviews of underwriting, processing, and operational activities, assesses process effectiveness, identifies improvement opportunities, and provides recommendations to enhance controls, policies, and procedures. Acting as a trusted business partner, the position delivers assurance, supports corrective action implementation, and collaborates closely with business units to strengthen governance, risk management, and operational quality across CFS Retail.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Internal Audit, Credit Review, Risk Management, Underwriting, or Banking Operations, preferably within Retail Banking.
• Strong understanding of retail lending products, credit processes, underwriting standards, and operational controls.
• Familiarity with banking regulations, regulatory compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Internal Audit, Risk Management, Quality Management) would be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Retail Banking products, credit policies, underwriting processes, and operational procedures.
• Experience in conducting quality assurance reviews, compliance assessments, process audits, or operational reviews.
• Ability to identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities, and provide practical recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop QA frameworks, review programs, and monitoring mechanisms in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
