Simpul Technologies is seeking a Backend Engineer to build an enterprise-grade platform. You will contribute to server-side development, data modeling, and API design, while leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving and resourcefulness.
• Proficient verbal and written English.
• Strong working knowledge of Git.
• Experience using AI coding tools with accountability.
• Curiosity about the product and client's business.

Responsibilities

• Produce fully functional programs writing clean, testable code — and be able to walk through the trade-offs and reasoning behind how you built it
• Plan and design backend solutions (data models, APIs, integrations), weigh trade-offs such as cost, complexity, reliability, and scale, and write down the reasoning behind your choices
• Use AI tools to speed up parts of your workflow, and review AI-generated or teammates' code critically before it ships
• Diagnose bugs and bottlenecks in existing systems, not just patch symptoms
• Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs
• Understand the product and the client's business behind each task, and speak up when a requirement doesn't make sense for users
• Proactively communicate with the counterpart and internal team about project requirements, coordination, and task progression
