Job summary

APRIL is seeking a Reliability Engineer to develop and implement RCM strategies across the mill, driving asset reliability, availability and maintainability. Responsibilities include FMEA/FMECA, RCFA, preventive and predictive maintenance, and reliability data analysis.

You will work with Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations teams, support shutdowns, and ensure adherence to safety and engineering standards. Based in or willing to relocate to Riau region in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years in reliability or maintenance engineering in process industries.
• Knowledge of RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCFA and maintenance strategies.
• Experience with rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve asset performance and uptime.
• Conduct criticality assessments, FMEA/FMECA, and RCFA for key assets.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans.
• Analyze reliability data and failure trends to drive improvements.
• Monitor MTBF, MTTR, availability, and maintenance costs.
• Collaborate with Condition Monitoring, Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations teams.
• Support major shutdown planning and reliability improvement projects.
• Review strategies and recommend engineering modifications to assets.
• Utilize SAP PM to review history and support reliability analyses.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety requirements.

Job Description

• Develop and implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve asset reliability, availability, and maintainability across the mill.
• Conduct equipment criticality assessments, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for critical plant equipment.
• Develop and optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Analyze equipment reliability data, maintenance history, and failure trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and maintenance cost.
• Work closely with Condition Monitoring, Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations teams to develop and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
• Support major shutdown planning and reliability improvement projects for critical assets.
• Review maintenance strategies and recommend engineering modifications to improve equipment reliability and lifecycle performance.
• Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) to review maintenance history, equipment performance, and support reliability analysis.
• Ensure all reliability engineering activities comply with company engineering standards, maintenance best practices, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or Asset Reliability within a Pulp & Paper, Petrochemical, Power Plant, Oil & Gas, Mining, Cement, or other continuous process industries.
• Strong knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA/FMECA, RCFA, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based maintenance methodologies.
• Experience in reliability analysis of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, fans, turbines, conveyors, and other critical plant assets.
• Experience using SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) for maintenance analysis and asset management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret maintenance data and develop reliability improvement plans.
• Certification such as CMRP, Vibration Analyst (ISO Category I/II), or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry will be a strong advantage.
• Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency, Riau, Indonesia.
