Job summary

Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN) invites applications for the Regional Manager (Region I) based in Pontianak to lead conservation programs across the region, ensure targets, quality, and stakeholder engagement.

You will supervise multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with technical, program management, policy, and conservation information functions to coordinate, learn, and deliver impact with donors.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent in conservation or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of conservation experience.
• Experience managing complex projects, staffing, and budgets.
• Strong supervisory and team leadership abilities.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee conservation programs within Region I.
• Coordinate with technical, policy, program management, and information teams.
• Engage stakeholders including donors, partners, and government agencies.
• Monitor targets, ensure quality standards, and report progress.

Together with YKAN, the Regional Manager (Region I) is responsible for delivering YKAN’s conservation programs within the assigned region, ensuring implementation targets, quality standards, and stakeholder engagement are achieved. The role supervises multidisciplinary teams and collaborates closely with technical, program management, policy, and conservation information functions to ensure effective coordination, compliance, learning, and high-quality program delivery across the region.

The Regional Manager (Region 1) leads the implementation of YKAN’s conservation programs in the assigned region, ensuring high-quality delivery, stakeholder engagement, team performance, and achievement of program targets. The role works closely with technical, policy, program management, and conservation information teams to support effective coordination, evidence-based decision-making, donor engagement, and continuous learning across regional conservation initiatives.

The Regional Manager (Region 1) reports to the Deputy Director of Conservation Implementation & Information and is based in Pontianak.

What You’ll Bring:

BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads and finances under deadlines.
• Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
• Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies
• Fluency communication skills through written, spoken, and graphical means in English.
