Job summary

PT China Construction Yangtze River Indonesia is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our West Cikarang team in West Java. This full-time role focuses on cost control, estimates and ensuring projects stay within budget while upholding quality standards.

You will prepare detailed cost estimates, manage variations and contracts, monitor expenditures, and liaise with managers, engineers and clients to provide commercial guidance across infrastructure and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian construction methods, materials and standard practices.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Experience managing project budgets on medium to large-scale projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in Indonesian and English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognised quantity surveying body (preferred).
• Experience working on infrastructure or industrial projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects based on drawings.
• Analysing project specifications and identifying cost implications and value engineering opportunities.
• Managing contract documentation and ensuring accurate record-keeping of variations, claims and amendments.
• Monitoring project expenditure and preparing regular cost reports to track spending against budgets.
• Negotiating with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors to obtain quotations and manage costs.
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to verify progress and compliance with specifications.
• Processing and evaluating contractor invoices and payment claims for accuracy.
• Preparing valuation reports and forecasting final project costs at milestones.
• Liaising with project managers, engineers and clients to resolve cost-related issues and provide commercial advice.
• Maintaining knowledge of current construction costs and market trends.
