Job summary

Caterpillar Indonesia in Batam is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality improvements in our manufacturing environment. You will lead quality initiatives, perform root-cause analyses, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure robust process controls and corrective actions.

The role requires collaboration with the production team to determine root causes and implement preventive actions, with relocation support and onsite work five days a week.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience in quality management, focusing on supplier quality.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Purchasing.
• Familiarity with Lean concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.
• Participates in supplier quality improvement initiatives; works with suppliers to develop and improve quality levels.
• Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers, implementing process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits and records.
• Identified quality problem(s) and determines a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.
• Interacting with manufacturing team members to determine root cause of quality issues and ensure that corrective and preventive action is implemented.
• Collecting non-conformance data and maintaining and updating quality system documents.

**What You Will Do:**
+ Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.

+ Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
+ Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
+ Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques, and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
+ Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
**What Will Set You Apart:**
+ At least three years of experience in quality management, with a focus on supplier quality.
+ A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Engineering or Purchasing.
+ Familiarity with Lean concepts.
