Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Quality Engineer in Batam to drive product and process quality using Continual Improvement tools. You will ensure inputs align with specifications, review documents, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to implement corrective actions.

The role requires 4+ years in oil and gas manufacturing, strong knowledge of ISO 9001, API Q1 and problem-solving approaches, plus effective English communication. On-site work with cross-functional exposure.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering; 4+ years in Oil & Gas manufacturing.
• Ability to read technical specs, drawings, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of continual improvement concepts and problem-solving; risk-based thinking.
• Familiar with QMS ISO 9001; API Q1 knowledge advantageous.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Review manufacturing inputs to ensure adherence to product and process specs and special requirements.
• Ensure process inputs (Work Order, Inspection & Test Plan, etc.) are implemented throughout production.
• Review supplier and internal/external docs for compliance to specs and standards.
• Coordinate with Suppliers, SQE, Manufacturing, and inter-company on discrepancies and resolutions.
• Communicate document review results to stakeholders and Baker Hughes teams.
• Drive manufacturing quality improvements via cross-functional collaboration.
• Support internal and external audits.
