Job summary

PT. HUAYUE NICKEL COBALT is seeking a project engineer to support the Project Manager by planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives across China and Indonesia.

You will review designs, monitor field construction, prepare reports, and coordinate engineering and operations between teams, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. English proficiency and strong cross-cultural communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum S1 engineering degree (Civil/Mechanical/Chemical) or related field.
• Experience in construction/project engineering, especially in heavy industry such as chemical, smelting, metallurgy, oil & gas.
• Strong coordination and communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review project design documents, technical specifications, and working drawings.
• Monitor field construction activities for compliance with design, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Prepare progress reports, documentation, and management presentations.
• Identify technical issues during execution and assist in finding solutions.
• Coordinate engineering and operational project coordination between China and Indonesia teams.
• Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring projects.

Job description

Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring projects according to established timelines. Coordinate and maintain communication between China teams, Indonesia teams, contractors, stakeholders, and clients.

Key responsibilities

Review project design documents, technical specifications, and working drawings

Monitor construction activities in the field to ensure work complies with design, quality standards, and safety procedures

Prepare project progress reports, documentation, and presentations for management

Identify technical issues during project execution and assist in finding appropriate solutions

Support the Project Manager in coordinating engineering and operational project coordination between China and Indonesia teams

About you

Minimum S1 degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering fields

Experience in construction/project engineering, particularly in chemical, smelting, metallurgy, oil & gas, or heavy industry

Strong communication and coordination skills with ability to work in multicultural/cross-functional teams

Active English proficiency in both spoken and written forms

Ability to understand technical documents, project specifications, and engineering drawings

Ability to work quickly, adaptively, and understand technical and project requirements well

Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills

High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of technical and business information

Understanding of Chinese work culture and positive attitude in working with Chinese colleagues and companies
