Job Title: Professional Learning & Development Manager

Location: Indonesia, Jakarta Hybrid (with travel)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Join us as our Professional Learning and Development Manager and become a trusted academic representative for Cambridge, supporting teachers, schools and educational institutions across Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asia region.

This is a senior individual-contributor position and does not include direct people-management responsibility. The role is essential in supporting the adoption and effective use of Cambridge English products and services across Indonesia. Working closely with Country Managers and regional commercial teams, you will use your academic expertise to help schools and institutions select solutions aligned with their teaching objectives. Through high-quality professional learning and consultancy, you will build trusted relationships and support successful implementation and long-term engagement with Cambridge offerings.

About The Role

As Professional Learning and Development Manager, you will design and deliver impactful professional learning experiences that show how Cambridge resources, assessments and services can be applied in real classroom settings. You will support customers before and after product adoption, assisting with implementation, effective use and sustained engagement. You will also provide academic credibility and insight to commercial colleagues while maintaining a strong operational focus on Indonesia.

Based in Indonesia, the role supports schools and institutions across Southeast Asia and the NSAP region, working with local teams to deliver academic consultancy, product training and professional development aligned with Cambridge's Integrated Learning and Assessment approach.

Additionally, you will:

• Work with local and regional teams to increase the effective use of Cambridge English products and services through customer engagement, academic presentations, professional learning and consultancy. Support institutions before and after adoption to achieve successful implementation and sustained engagement.
• Design and facilitate engaging face-to-face and online professional learning for teachers and institutional stakeholders. Represent Cambridge at training events, customer events, academic forums and conferences, including presentations to large and experienced audiences.
• Adapt and localise academic and training content for Indonesia's curriculum, education system and institutional needs. Monitor educational developments and contribute insight on teaching, learning, assessment and product positioning.
• Gather feedback, evaluate and communicate the impact of professional learning, contribute feedback on existing and future products, and manage training logistics, documentation and internal reporting.

Based in Jakarta, this role operates on a hybrid working model, combining office-based work, significant travel and some remote working. The initial onboarding period will involve more time in the office, with typical office attendance of two to three days per week thereafter. Travel will be primarily across Indonesia, with regional travel across Southeast Asia when required.

About You

This role requires an experienced education professional who combines academic credibility, substantial classroom and teacher-development experience, exceptional presentation skills and the ability to build trusted relationships. You will be confident without arrogance, approachable and collaborative, professionally curious, commercially aware and committed to continuous learning.

• Degree in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
• Recognised English language teaching qualification such as DELTA, MA TESOL or equivalent (mandatory)
• Near-native or C2 level English proficiency, with excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Approximately 10 years of teaching experience, including extensive classroom teaching in English language education
• Approximately 5 years of teacher training or professional development experience
• Experience preparing students for international English language qualifications
• Experience delivering professional learning to teachers, both face-to-face and online
• Strong presentation and facilitation experience, including the ability to engage large and experienced audiences
• Experience adapting and developing training materials for different audiences and cultural contexts
• Good knowledge and practical understanding of either the Indonesian education system or education systems and teaching contexts across the wider ASEAN region
• Demonstrable aptitude and commitment to develop any gaps in Indonesian or wider ASEAN education knowledge quickly
• Familiarity with international English language qualifications, assessments, or learning materials
• Ability to support schools and institutions before and after product implementation
• Strong digital literacy, organisational skills and experience working in international or multicultural environments

Desirable criteria

• Postgraduate qualification in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, in addition to any language-teaching-specific qualification
• External teacher-training experience across multiple schools, institutions or education organisations
• Strong knowledge of the Indonesian education system and curriculum, combined with a broad understanding of education systems and teaching contexts across ASEAN
• Experience training teachers to use international English language qualifications, assessments or learning materials
• Experience adapting global content to local curricula and education systems, with strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills
• Ability to assess training impact, communicate measurable outcomes and apply insight to improve professional learning
