Job summary

PT Esensi Solusi Buana (ESB) is seeking a Product Owner to bridge business, users, and cross-functional teams in Indonesia. You will define product priorities, maintain the backlog, and align development with the roadmap and goals.

You will translate user needs into clear tasks for design and engineering, work with vendors, participate in UAT, and report progress with honesty and empathy to stakeholders. Experience with POS systems, PRDs, APIs, Jira, and GA is valued, with an agile mindset.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience as Product Owner in software/product development
• Experience in POS system development or enhancement and API integration
• Ability to create PRDs/BRDs to align business and tech needs
• Knowledge of go-to-market processes and user testing
• Familiar with Jira and Google Analytics for product analytics

Responsibilities

As a Product Owner, you will help shape and manage products that deliver value to both users and the business. You will act as the bridge between business, users, and cross-functional teams to ensure product priorities are clearly defined, the backlog is continuously optimized, and product development stays aligned with the roadmap and business goals.

We are looking for a collaborator who leads with Honesty to communicate product progress, risks, and challenges transparently, practices Empathy to understand genuine user and stakeholder needs, and brings the Agility needed to adapt as priorities and business requirements evolve. Your goal is to maximize product value by identifying product issues, driving clear roadmaps, managing deadlines, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to deliver meaningful product improvements.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Support the creation and maintenance of the product backlog, practicing Agility to adjust priorities as business needs and product requirements evolve.
• Track and communicate daily product development progress with Honesty, proactively raising issues, risks, and blockers to ensure realistic expectations across stakeholders.
• Translate user stories and business requirements into clear, actionable tasks for developers, working closely with Product Design and Engineering to ensure alignment and understanding.
• Coordinate with third parties, including vendors and clients, with Empathy and clear communication to understand their needs and facilitate effective system integration and enhancement.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that deliverables meet business requirements and address genuine user needs before release.
• Join internal and client meetings to capture issues, document discussions, and follow up on agreed actions, demonstrating ownership and accountability.
• Conduct requirement gathering, product research, and basic evaluations with an Empathy-driven approach to understand user needs, while applying Agility to respond to opportunities for product improvement.

Requirements

What Capabilities You’ll Need (Requirements)

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Product Owner in software/product development, preferably in POS systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in POS system development or enhancement, including knowledge of POS calculation logic and API integration.
• Proficient in creating PRDs and supporting documents such as BRDs/proposals to clearly align business and technical needs.
• Familiar with go-to-market processes, user testing, and adoption tracking, with an Empathy-driven approach to understanding user behavior and needs.
• Proficient in Jira for backlog, epics, stories, and sprint tracking, and Google Analytics for analyzing user behavior and product adoption.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking, with the Agility to solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, and make effective decisions.
• Clear and effective communicator who approaches stakeholder management with Empathy, transparency, and professionalism.
• Demonstrates Honesty and ownership, with the ability to communicate risks, challenges, and limitations openly and take responsibility from requirement gathering through delivery.
• Added value: Experience in POS go-live cycles, UI/UX revamp projects, or Agile/Scrum environments, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing product and business needs.
