AI Rudder in Indonesia is seeking an intern to support development and optimization of automatic speech recognition (ASR) models. The role involves working with speech data, evaluating transcription quality, analyzing errors, and assisting experiments to improve model accuracy and efficiency.

You'll prepare and validate datasets, evaluate models using WER/CER, and collaborate with engineering and annotation teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and deep learning with Python.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are seeking an intern to support the development and optimization of automatic speech recognition (ASR) models.

The intern will work with speech data, evaluate transcription quality, analyze recognition errors, and assist with experiments that improve model accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, and validate speech datasets and transcriptions.
• Evaluate ASR models using WER, CER, and related metrics.
• Analyze substitution, deletion, and insertion errors.
• Identify problems involving accents, noise, overlapping speech, technical terms, and audio quality.
• Support model training, fine-tuning, and inference experiments.
• Test audio augmentation and preprocessing techniques.
• Compare model versions and document experimental results.
• Help build scripts and dashboards for repeatable evaluation.
• Collaborate with engineering and annotation teams to improve data quality.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to the team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and deep learning, with working knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar machine learning frameworks.
• Understanding of basic audio concepts, such as channels and duration.
• Comfortable working with structured datasets and performing basic data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to communicate technical findings clearly in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with ASR concepts, including Whisper or other speech recognition models, is a plus.
• Knowledge of evaluation metrics such as WER, CER, precision, recall, and confidence scores, or exposure to ASR error analysis and AI/ML optimization, is a plus.
