Job summary

Daimler Truck Indonesia is seeking a Procurement Assistant Manager to lead localization and sourcing initiatives within the Procurement and Supplier Management Department. You will manage material cost, commodity planning, supplier evaluation, and governance activities for DCVMI.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in automotive procurement, strong negotiation skills, English fluency, and solid MS Office capability to support strategic sourcing decisions and supplier management excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in automotive.
• Negotiation skills and automotive product knowledge are advantageous.
• Knowledge of local content regulations, import taxes and duties.
• Fluent English written and spoken; multilingualism is a plus.
• Strong communication, teamwork and IT skills (MS Office).
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, SMK3 and Eco Industry concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead localization and new sourcing initiatives within DCVMI.
• Manage material cost and commodity planning activities.
• Oversee supplier evaluation, governance and reporting.
• Drive compliance and governance across procurement processes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for sourcing projects.

QUALIFICATION

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Equivalent
• Minimum 5-7 years relevant work experience in procurement /purchasing related functions (preferably in automotive industry).
• Preferred added advantages: Negotiation skills, product knowledge on automotive vehicles and knowledge in automotive purchasing processes & systems.
• Knowledge in local content regulations, applicable domestic and import taxes & duties.
• English language written and spoken fluently, Multi-linguistic abilities would be an added advantage.
• Should be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly.
• Possesses negotiation skills, product knowledge on automotive vehicles and knowledge in automotive purchasing processes & systems
• Knowledge in local content regulations, applicable domestic and import taxes & duties
• Proficient in various IT tools and application, especially MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Basic knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, SMK3 and Eco Industry
