Job summary

Evyap is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to optimize and drive production improvements at the Sei Mangkei Oleochemical Plant in North Sumatra. You will lead process control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for Fatty Acid manufacturing, ensuring safe, cost-effective operations.

The role requires 5+ years in process engineering within oleochemicals or related refineries, strong DCS/PLC and data-analysis skills, and readiness to work shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Process Engineering within Oleochemical / Fatty Acid / Refinery / Chemical Plant.
• Strong knowledge of hydrolysis, distillation, vacuum systems, heat transfer, separation process, and utilities.
• Familiar with DCS / PLC control systems and process data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize Fatty Acid production processes including bleaching, splitting, glycerine, fractionation, hydrogenation, H2 Plant.
• Ensure plant operations meet production targets, yield, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Analyze process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, vacuum, and reaction performance.
• Lead process improvement projects to increase yield, reduce cost, and improve safety.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions for recurring operational issues.

Who We're Looking For?

• Preferably has minimum 5+ years experience in Process Engineering within Oleochemical / Fatty Acid / Refinery / Chemical Plant.
• Strong knowledge of hydrolysis, distillation, vacuum systems, heat transfer, separation process, and utilities.
• Familiar with DCS / PLC control systems and process data analysis

What You'll Be Doing?

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing, monitoring, and improving production processes in the Oleochemical Plant, specifically Fatty Acid manufacturing. This role ensures safe, stable, cost-effective, and high-quality operations through process control, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize Fatty Acid production processes including bleacing, splitting, glycerine, fractionation, hydrogenation, H2 Plant
• Ensure plant operations achieve production targets, yield, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Analyze process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, vacuum, and reaction performance.
• Improve plant capacity, throughput, and process stability.
• Reduce raw material loss, energy consumption, and off-spec product generation
• Lead root cause analysis for process upsets, product quality issues, and plant inefficiencies.
• Provide technical solutions for bottlenecks in reactors, columns, heat exchangers, pumps, and utility systems.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions for recurring operational issues
• Lead process improvement projects to increase yield, reduce cost, and improve safety.
• Conduct process simulation, trials, and debottlenecking studies.
• Review and optimize SOP, process standards, and operating windows.
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives for process monitoring
