SCHOTT is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to lead the setup and stabilization of production processes at our Batam site. You will transfer knowledge from other plants, optimize parameters for quality and efficiency, and develop SOPs to ensure consistent operations.
You will work with production to ensure proper execution, train operators, and drive continuous improvement in yield and process capability. Experience in thermal, rubber, and silicone processes and automotive practices is valued.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
3–5 years experience in manufacturing process engineering or production engineering in an industrial environment.
Experience in thermal, Rubber and Silicone processes and automation knowhow.
Experience in production line setup, process parameter development, and process troubleshooting
Familiar with automotive manufacturing practices and core tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan.
Your Contribution:
Lead the setup and stabilization of the production processes within the production department.
Support the transfer of product and process knowledge from another plant and ensure proper implementation in the local production line.
Establish, monitor, and optimize process parameters to ensure consistent product quality and stable production output.
Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process control standards for production.
Work closely with production to ensure correct process execution and adherence to process parameters.
Provide technical guidance and training to production operators and technicians on equipment operation and process requirements.
Support troubleshooting of production issues related to process conditions, equipment performance, or product quality.
Ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, and improvement of production equipment.
Lead process optimization and machine trouble shooting in the production.
Monitor process performance and implement improvements to increase yield, reduce defects, and improve production efficiency.
Support quality activities such as process validation, APQP, PPAP preparation, and corrective actions related to production processes.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
