Job summary

SAMPOERNA ACADEMY in Indonesia seeks an experienced school leader to shape curriculum and academic programs at the international level. You will guide Cambridge/IB accreditation processes and coordinate with staff, parents and authorities to ensure high standards.

The role involves directing student discipline, planning schedules, and overseeing staff development and annual events, while maintaining confidentiality and strong governance practices. Available to join January 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Education/Management/Psychology or related field.
• 5 years of leadership experience (Principal, Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Department) at international/SPK schools.
• Experience with international curricula (Cambridge, IB, Pearson, etc) and Indonesia's national curriculum.
• Experience preparing and assisting in international accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control student behavior and discipline; counsel on acceptable school conduct.
• Implement the master schedule and student schedules.
• Supervise students during the school day and activities; coordinate school events.
• Assist in evaluation of teaching staff and walkthroughs.
• Oversee planning of trips and school-wide activities.

Job Description

• Direct and control student behavior and discipline, counseling students regarding acceptable school conduct and recommending appropriate action to be taken when necessary.
• Implement the master schedule and student schedules.
• Schedule proper supervision of students during the school day and during approved co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• Create and manage break, after school, weekend and tutorial schedules.
• Oversee planning of school trips.
• Assist with evaluation of teaching staff, formal and walkthroughs.
• Implement and review data related to common assessments such as School assessments, Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE & IB assessment and NWEA MAP.
• Remain abreast of current curriculum trends, instructional strategies, practices, developments, instructional materials and related governmental procedures and guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with parents, school, and community committees on all school related matters.
• Assist in the selection of school personnel for Cambridge & IB.
• Coordinate activities at the start of the academic year to ensure orderly opening of the school
• Plan activities for staff development and follow up to measure effectiveness and implementation.
• Coordinate new teacher on boarding.
• Identify workshops, in-services, and other Cambridge & IB staff development activities.
• Plan, coordinate and follow up school academic teams/competitions.
• Lesson plans, Curriculum/scope and sequence follow up for Cambridge & IB curriculum.
• Review and provide feedback on weekly lesson plan submissions.
• Work with in conjunction with the principal in implementing academic programs
• Oversee organization of all major school events.
• Establish and maintain an effective accounting and inventory system for departmental supplies, materials and equipment.
• Inform the Principal of difficulties that staff are experiencing and help them overcoming struggles.
• Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
• Some subject teaching is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor/Master’s degree (preferable) from Faculty of Education/Education Management, Management, Psychology or other relevant major.

Having 5 years' experience in leadership position (Principal, Vice Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Department) at international/SPK Schools.

Having experience working with international curriculum (Cambridge, IB, Pearson, etc) as well as Indonesia's national Curriculum.

Having experience preparing and assisting in international accreditation processes.
